Ekadesma.com approached us with a powerful vision: celebrating and preserving the rich tradition of handwoven Nepali textiles while empowering women across the region. They sought an online platform showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and providing sustainable livelihoods. Our challenge was building a robust and scalable e-commerce platform, effectively managing sales, inventory, and data, all while maintaining the authentic, handcrafted essence of the brand. We also undertook the creation of a brand identity, including designing the logo and web UI, to truly capture the spirit of their mission. We chose Shopify as a foundation, leveraging its flexibility and scalability.
The Journey
Phase One: Crafting the Brand and Digital Loom
Designing the logo and crafting a web UI that reflected the brand's values and the beauty of handwoven textiles. Developing a visually stunning Shopify storefront, highlighting the unique beauty and story behind each piece. Meticulously attending to detail in product photography, descriptions, and user experience, ensuring the online platform reflected quality and craftsmanship. Starting with simple Visa and Mastercard integration, focusing on creating a seamless shopping experience resonating with customers seeking authentic and ethically produced clothing.
Phase Two: Empowering with Insights
Developing a custom dashboard, integrating seamlessly with Shopify's data, providing real-time insights into sales trends, customer behavior, and inventory management. Including features like sales forecasting, enabling better production planning and ensuring consistent income for women artisans. Providing tools for sustainable growth and empowerment.
Phase Three: Sustainable Growth and Impact
Integrating advanced analytics tools into the dashboard, enabling deeper insights into customer segments and marketing campaign effectiveness. Optimizing the platform's user experience based on data-driven feedback, ensuring it met evolving needs of customers and artisans. Refining the system to maximize both sales and positive social impact. Starting with simple Visa and Mastercard integration, we expanded payment options to include Apple Pay, PayPal, Google Pay, and Shop Pay, providing a seamless and secure checkout experience for a wider range of customers.
